Introducing Heart-a-Palooza — a heart health challenge on the bWell Rocks Tour
February 26 – May 27
The Heart-a-Palooza challenge is all about matters of the heart — controlling blood pressure, eating well, and being active. The 12-week challenge will show you how small, basic steps can improve your heart health. Complete the entire challenge, and you’ll also earn 300 bWell points and get closer to the rock star Hall of Fame and a chance to win the ultimate VIP experience – a rock star-style package or nine other rockin’ prizes.
Heart-a-Palooza is a three-act challenge, each designed to encourage you to make small changes for a healthier heart.
March
Opening Act Phase: Each week for 12 weeks you’ll measure your blood pressure and learn what the numbers mean.
High blood pressure can be fatal, so it’s important to know your blood pressure reading and what you can do to keep things under control. Learn more
April
Middle Act Phase 2: You’ll learn what to eat and what not to eat to keep your heart healthy. You’ll also continue measuring your blood pressure each week.
Healthy eating habits can help you reduce three risk factors for heart attack and stroke — high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure and excess body weight. Learn more
May
Headline Act Phase 3: Get your heart pumping during the annual Step-It-Up! Challenge. Participate to increase your physical activity and help take care of your body’s most important muscle – your heart! Continue measuring your blood pressure each week.
Regular physical activity reduces your risk of heart disease and stroke. It also helps you reduce or manage other risk factors — high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, excess body weight and diabetes. Learn more
