Annual Enrollment Ended November 14. Now What?
Watch your home mail for your personalized statement. It shows your 2015 benefits elections and dependent information. Take a few minutes to carefully review your statement. If you have any questions about your elections, please call Your Benefits Resources (YBR) at 1-877-262-4849. Representatives are available 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Eastern), weekdays.
If you are adding a new dependent for January 1, 2015
- If you are adding a new dependent for January 1, 2015, you will need to verify your dependent’s eligibility by providing a copy of a valid marriage certificate, domestic partner registration or birth certificate.
- Your Benefits Resources™ will send you a verification request notice and package at your home address. Follow the instructions in the package and respond by the deadline. If you do not complete and return the requested documents, your dependents will be ineligible for coverage and dropped from BMC benefits.
If you enrolled in the Health Savings Account (HSA) medical plan for the first time
- Watch for an HSA welcome kit along with your debit card in your home mail before the end of the year.
- UMB Bank will let you know if they need more information from you to open the account, such your birth date, Social Security number or other information.
- Your HSA contributions will be deposited to your new UMB account automatically after each pay period in 2015.
- BMC's first contribution to your account will be deposited in early January, and the second contribution will be deposited in July.
Why Call Teladoc Instead of Your PCP?
Teladoc is another source of non-urgent medical care for you and your covered dependents. It is a great complement to your primary care physician (PCP). Teladoc can diagnose illnesses, recommend treatment and prescribe medications for a wide range of conditions.
Next time you need care, consider these advantages of a telephone or video consult with a Teladoc doctor:
- Save money: Teladoc medical consults cost $40, about $40 less than the average doctor office visit if you are enrolled in the HSA medical plan.
- Anywhere, anytime: On vacation, after hours, on the weekends, even holidays. Talk to U.S. board-certified physicians and pediatricians by phone or video wherever you are and whenever you need them.
- Bye-bye wait time: Busy doctors, clinics and ERs can rarely see you without a long wait. With Teladoc, the average response time is just 16 minutes.
- A digital house call: A sick child, waiting rooms and car rides are enough to frustrate even the most seasoned parent. Teladoc pediatricians diagnose and treat your child in your own home thanks to your telephone or video chat.
- Helps meet plan deductible: Your Teladoc costs count toward both the in-network and out-of-network deductibles/out-of-pocket maximums for your plan.
How Do I Get Started with Teladoc?
To take full advantage of this service, set up your account and complete your medical history today. Then, when you need care right away, a Teladoc doctor is only a call or click away.

New Commuter Benefit Offers Tax-Savings and Convenience
Starting December 1, 2014, you can set aside up to $130 before-tax each month to pay for mass transit (passes, fare cards or vouchers for the bus, train, subway or van pool). The before-tax feature means your contribution reduces the amount you pay in federal income taxes, Social Security taxes, and state and local income taxes.
How to participate
- Create an account on the Your Spending Account™ (YSA) website and elect an amount up to $130 per month before-tax. You can also elect after-tax, and pay for these contributions with a credit card.
- YSA will send you a reloadable Commuter Account card when you place your order. You can load your card each month between the 1st and 10th, or you can set it up to load automatically. You can use the card anywhere you pay for transit expenses.
- You can enroll or change your Commuter Account elections on the YSA website as often as once a month throughout the year. Commuter Account orders must be placed by the 10th of the month to be effective for the following month. For example, if you want a Commuter Account card to use in January, you must make your elections by December 10.
Make your Commuter Account election between December 1 and 10 by going to mybmcrewards.com > Visit My Spending Accounts > Commuter Account.
