New Benefit Year Reminders: ID Cards
Express Scripts prescription drug coverage
Express Scripts (formerly Medco) continues to be the BMC pharmacy benefits manager in the U.S. Since the vendor did not change, the prescription drug card you used in 2013 will still work in 2014.
As an additional convenience, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas included the Express Script’s group contract’s phone number to the back of your medical ID card. While this phone number is now included on your BCBSTX ID card, the prescription drug coverage is not being offered through BCBSTX.
Your pharmacist will need to contact Express Scripts for information on coverage, not BCBSTX. The phone number for Express Scripts is located on the back of your BCBSTX ID card. If you have questions about your specific prescription drug coverage, visit www.express-scripts.com or call Express Scripts at 1-866-577-2523.
Dental card
MetLife is the new provider of dental benefits for BMC in the U.S. Although the provider has changed, you will not receive a dental ID card from MetLife as one is not required. When you make your appointment with your dentist, know that your insurance has changed from Aetna to MetLife. They can find your MetLife coverage using your Social Security number.
If you wish to download or print a dental card from MetLife, visit www.metlife.com/mybenefits. If you have questions about your specific dental coverage, contact MetLife at 1-800-942-0854.
