Enrollment Year-End Reminders
- Review Your Confirmation Statement: Annual Benefits Enrollment ended November 11. You will receive a confirmation statement showing your 2017 benefits elections. Take a minute to review it. If you need to make a change, call Your Benefits Resources at 1-877-262-4869 before December 30, 2016.
- Dependent Verification: If you added a new dependent to your benefits during annual enrollment, you will receive a verification request notice and package at your home address. Follow the instructions in the package and respond by the deadline. If you do not complete and return the requested documents, your dependents will be ineligible for coverage and dropped from BMC benefits.
- ID Cards: If you enrolled in a BMC medical plan for the first time or you changed plans from 2016 to 2017, you will receive medical ID card(s) before the end of December. Dental and vision ID cards are not required, so you won’t receive one in the mail. Just have your provider contact MetLife at 1-800-942-0854 or VSP at 1-800-877-7195 when you get care. Or download the apps to your smart phone and you'll always have a copy of your ID card with you.
bWell Update: 2017 Preview
Whatever your health and wellness goals are for the new year, the 2017 bWell program — Mission Superheroes — has challenges to help you reach your goal. The New Year line-up includes:
- January – Free biometric health screenings at five BMC locations: Houston, Austin, Lexington, Santa Clara and Tampa.
- March – March Madness Fitness Contest and Stair Climb
- May – Step It Up! Challenge

Get Your Free Biometric Screening in January
Sign up now and mark your calendars for the on-site biometric health screenings in January at 5 BMC locations.
A biometric health screening is a set of simple tests: finger-stick test, blood pressure and body measurements, such as height, weight and waist. Participating in a biometric screenings will give you vital health numbers and help you detect preventable diseases and serious health conditions earlier.
Completing the online Well-Being Assessment and getting a biometric screening are required activities for the 2017 bWell program. These activities are each worth 500 points. When you complete both, you earn a gift valued at $100 and 1,000 points toward the 7,000 bWell points goal! Get the details here.

Parental Leave Is For BMC Moms and Dads
During November’s annual benefits enrollment period, BMC announced enhancements to short-term disability and parental leave practices to help you enjoy more time with your new bundle of joy.
Starting January 1, 2017, BMC moms and dads will have greater flexibility to spend time with their newborn — whether by birth, adoption or as part of the foster care system — and enjoy a happier and more productive time at home and at work:
