The New Benefits Year is Here!
- New paycheck deductions begin: Your paycheck deductions for benefits may have changed with the new benefits year. It’s a good idea to compare your first few paystubs of 2017 against the benefits confirmation statement you received in December.
- Deductibles and limits start over: Medical and dental plan deductibles and limits start over on January 1.
- Company contribution to Health Savings Accounts: BMC will deposit 50% of the annual company-provided contribution to Health Savings Accounts in January. You can change your contribution or check your HSA balance any time at Your Spending Account, a link from My BMC Compensation and Benefits.
- MDLive™ Replaces Teladoc: Therapists and psychologists are now part of the MDLive telehealth service. If you’re feeling stressed, worried or having a tough time, you can talk to a licensed psychologist or therapist from your home using MDLive. Download the MDLive app to get started. Select Activate Benefit Here under Employer or Insurance Benefit. You will be asked to enter your BCBSTX member ID, which starts with BMY.

Introducing Naturally Slim… a New Year, a New You!
Make 2017 the year you learn how to lose weight and improve your health while eating the foods you love. Following a successful 10-week pilot, BMC is offering the Naturally Slim program for free to employees and spouses enrolled in a BCBSTX medical plan.
The Naturally Slim program is not a diet. Instead, it teaches you to listen to your body and only eat when you are really hungry. The program offers the opportunity to lose weight, feel better and decrease your chance of getting a serious disease, like diabetes or heart disease. What’s more, you’ll increase your chances of living a longer, healthier life.

Free Biometric Screenings Start January 16
Health care professionals will be onsite at five BMC locations to perform free, confidential biometric health screenings January 16 through 23.
Go online to view screening dates, times and locations. Click on the date and book your 15-minute screening on ADURO’s online reservation system.
Can’t attend an onsite event? Go online and see the links to forms for getting screenings through your doctor or a LabCorp facility.
You and BMC Save When You Stay In-Network
You keep dollars in your pocket when you choose BCBSTX in-network providers whenever possible. Network providers have agreed with your BCBSTX medical plan to charge lower rates for services provided to plan members. Out-of-network providers can charge as much a three to five times more than in network providers for the same services. This means using a network provider may save both you and BMC money on health care expenses. Read what to expect when you use out-of-network providers. Read More...
