Get Back Down to Earth: Explore Ways to Decompress
Sometimes life can be overwhelming, and we seem to spin from one orbit to another. Stress can overwhelm your emotional being, as well as your physical health and the way you feel in time and space. The goal is a balanced life, with time for work, relationships, relaxation, and fun—and the resilience to hold up under pressure and meet challenges head-on. However, stress management is not one-size-fits-all.
That’s why it’s good to try a variety of ways to manage your stress—to find out what works best for you. This month, as part of our Return to Earth Stress Management Challenge, we offer a lot of different techniques and ideas for decompressing and minding your mental and physical wellbeing.
Here are a just a few of the many simple ideas included on the Challenge calendar:
- Track the things that cause you stress.
- Declutter your workspace.
- Plant some seeds and watch them grow.
- Go to bed 20 minutes earlier.
- Create and dance to your favorite playlist.
- Write a daily gratitude list.
How to Navigate Back to Earth
When you complete a stress-reducing technique each day between July 1 and 30 and log it on mybmcwellness.com, you will earn 450 bWell points. You earn 15 bWell points for completing a single stress-busting technique, so you can still pick up partial points.
The best part? You decide which activity you’d like to complete. You can follow the calendar
and complete it in sequence, or you can pick any activity. And the Out of This World – Return to Earth Challenge includes stress-busting techniques you can use at home, work, or on the go.
