2018 Benefits Reminders

  • Review Your Confirmation Statement: Annual Benefits Enrollment ended November 10. You will receive a confirmation statement showing your 2018 benefits elections. Take a minute to review it. If you need to make a change, call Your Benefits Resources at 1-877-262-4869 before Friday, December 29, 2017.
  • BCBSTX PPO Plan: If you are enrolled in the PPO Plan for 2018, you will receive a new ID card in the mail reflecting the increased MDLIVE (telehealth) copay for 2018. You will not receive ID cards if you are enrolled in the HSA or Kaiser HMO medical plans or in the Delta Dental Plan and VSP Vision Plan.
  • Dependent Verification: If you added a new dependent to your benefits during annual enrollment, you will be asked to verify his or her eligibility for coverage. To help ensure that only eligible dependents are covered, Your Benefits Resources will request documentation — such as a marriage or birth certificate — on all newly added dependents. YBR will send the request via U.S. Postal Service mail. Follow the instructions in the package and respond by the deadline. If you do not complete and return the requested documents, your dependents will be ineligible for coverage and dropped from BMC benefits.
  • Prescription Drug Program: Starting January 1, 2018, BCBSTX covered employees and dependents will have the convenience of getting a 90-day supply of medications they take regularly for ongoing conditions at any Walgreens, Duane Reade or Happy Harry’s retail pharmacy at the mail order cost. After January 1, 2018, if you choose to get up to a 90-day supply at Walgreens, you’ll need to get a new prescription from your doctor.
