bWell Update: Power Up with the stairWell Challenge
Step on up! Now is the time to rack up some serious bWell points during the “stairWell Challenge,” BMC’s first-ever stair climbing event.
The stairWell Challenge launches in Houston in February and encourages you to begin a new habit as you settle into the new building: take the stairs for a health lift. Houston employees will team up and climb 200 flights of stairs between February 15 and March 13. The stairWell Challenge began in January for non-Houston based employees, who are urged to use the stairs at least three days a week.
Stair climbing is a free workout and doesn’t require any special equipment. Step up to a healthy lifestyle — climb before work, on a break, at lunch, and after work.
Besides being a fun and challenging fitness activity, stair climbing has lots of health benefits. According to Step Jockey it can help prevent heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and some cancers, as well as release endorphins that make you feel great!
