Nilay logged 1,713 flights. (That’s a whopping 42,825 steps in the Houston office stairwell). The competition was fierce with four other participants logging impressive flight counts. Participants voted “most likely to climb the stairs” include:
Joshua S., High Steppers – 1,537 flights
Carl N., High Steppers – 1,395 flights
Irma S., Sole-Mates – 1,429 flights (Irma, the top female Challenger, says the experience was "very empowering.")
Anthony B., Tampa Tornados – 1,228 flights
Congratulations to team Sole-Mates on capturing the top spot in the team competition by logging 6,620 heart-pumping flights. Team High Steppers captured second spot with 6,169 flights and third place went to Who Needs Elevators with 5,004 flights.
The High Steppers, spurred on by their team mascot "the squirrel," led the competition for three weeks. Pictures of squirrels mysteriously appeared in the stairwells as competing teams began a light-hearted game of squirrel hunting.
A total of 274 Challenge participants climbed the required 200 flights by March 13 and received bWell rewards. Participants collectively climbed 65,142 flights UP during the four-week Challenge.
Kudos to all competitors for proving how high you can climb. Keep on choosing the stairs. If you didn’t compete in the Challenge, think about starting. Your body will love it when you skip the elevator and take the stairs.
